Joey is a 2 year old mixed breed. He weighs about 50 pounds and thinks that is the perfect cuddle size. He is happiest on a human lap.  Joey quickly learned basic commands in his foster home: sit, down, shake, sit pretty, high five and more verbal cues. He also learned to walk nicely on a gentle leader and even to bike along on a “walky dog”.    

Joey is crate trained and is accustomed to eating in his crate.  His house training skills are excellent as are his house manners.

He is very playful and his first, best canine foster sister was a shepherd mix who not only played with him, but also constantly mothered and groomed him and kept his ears clean.   He also enjoyed play time with his little 15 pound beagle girlfriend and they enjoyed exploring the yard and woods together.  Joey is trained to underground fencing and is microchipped. 

He has lived with teen aged children and loved their company and also enjoyed visits from younger grandchildren.

Joey’s forever home needs to be cat-free.  It should also have a good supply of kongs and chew toys for him and provide him with plenty of daily exercise. He’d probably do best with a playful female dog or 2. Everyone who has met him has fallen in love with his sweet, loving, loyal personality and melt-your-heart brown eyes.

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
