Wags is a young (1-2 years), golden/hound (best guess)  mix who was found as a stray. His name was chosen because when he walks his tail WAGS non-stop!  He is a charming boy who sits on command, has good leash manners, and is eager to please.  He has the beautiful coloring and expressive eyes of a Golden Retriever, but when his nose is to the ground, the hound in him is apparent as he sniffs for the bunny or squirrel trail.  He is affectionate and will lean in for a cuddle. He is presently being boarded in a kennel and he does not mess in the run at all, even for some long stretches of time, so he appears to be housebroken.  He did well when walked with an older male dog and seems playful.  He is a little hesitant sometimes when meeting some new people, but warms up quickly.  He was neutered on 9/28 and will be going to a foster home.  Check back for updates as we get to know him better.  He seems like an awesome dog that would make a great family pet.

Wags Update 10-2-10
Wags IS housebroken and sleeps in his crate at night.  He enjoys playing with his sheepdog foster brother.  He left the cat alone after being slapped with a declawed paw, but after he has been there a few days, he is now giving playful chase....working on getting him to NOT chase the kitty!  He is not food agressive and eats only out of his own bowl and doesn't even bother the cat food after being told 1 time to leave it.
