Ruger is a very handsome 6 year old Black and Tan Coonhound.  True to his breed, he is high energy and loves to be the center of attention.  Ruger was trained for hunting, loves other dogs, and is neutered. He currently lives with a 3 year old child and an 11 year old German Shepherd, and a cat.  He is looking for a new home where he can be walked several times a day or have the run of a large fenced area. Ruger needs obedience training, but does walk well on a leash with a halti.  His nose tends to drive the walk without it.

He has no aggression and comes when called.    He has been known to  counter surf, raid the trash, and steal a bit of food out of the kids' hands when they're not looking.  (But hey!---who can blame a guy for passing up an opportunity!)   He is a fun loving guy. (And he thinks crates are no fun.)

Ruger is waiting for someone to give him a chance! He has a great personality and a charming hound howl. (To put it bluntly, he is not especially quiet!) Ruger would make the perfect pet with a small investment of daily exercise and some basic training and a routine.
Just look at those eyes  - - waiting for someone to give him a chance.
