Smartie is a cream colored miniature poodle. The red on his feet and mouth are stains! For six miserable years, he was kept in a wire cage that was up off the ground and he was only taken out to be the poodle male they needed to breed cockapoo puppies. Fast forward to his H2H rescue. He has been bathed and groomed and is waiting for his vetting appointment on February 27 when he will be brought up to date on vaccines, heart worm tested, teeth cleaned, neutered and chipped. He quickly learned to do steps, use the doggie door, walk on a leash, and be a pack member. His house manners are a work in progress; but thanks to the use of belly bands, no damage is being done. His neuter and verbal corrections should help this smart boy understand what it means to live in a home not a cage. Smartie craves lap time! It was so funny seeing his double take at a TV show -- which was another first for him. This boy is so sweet and so deserves to live out the next half of his life as someone’s cherished pet/family member.
