If you think you are looking at a puppy, look again at Fawn’s birthdate. Fawn will eternally look and act like a sweet puppy girl. Weighing in at only 9 pounds, this gold and white Shih Tzu is the perfect size for lap snuggles, going for car rides,and being a warm bed buddy. All of which she says YES PLEASE!

Fawn came from a puppy mill setting and though it was well kept she had little human interaction. She was there for a purpose and that was to produce puppies. No longer needed, she gratefully was rescued and is now learning how wonderful living as a beloved pet in a loving home can be!

Fawn actually froze and did not move when she was put on grass for the first time. She is working hard on learning to do steps, walk on a lead, trusting people and learning house manners. She is a quiet little thing and will happily go to her crate when she is not sitting in a lap.

Fawn quickly integrated into a pack of six canines that includes: big, small, young, old, male and female. She passed her cat test where she showed interest but no aggression and the cats were not alarmed by her at all. (Probably because they were bigger than she is!). When meeting children she is shy but sweet once she is handed to them.

Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
