Sugar Bear is a 46 pound standard poodle who is as sweet as his name.  However he is no bear.  He is more like “Mary's Little Lamb"; just lamb on steroids!  And his fleece is not as “white as snow” but a beautiful poodle apricot color.  However, it is as soft as cotton.  This two year old has the tight curly poodle coat which is nice for no shedding and is considered by some hypoallergenic. His pictures show him after a recent grooming; he will need to be groomed every 6-8 weeks.  Bottom line, this will be an on-going and necessary expense that needs to be taken into consideration before applying to adopt Sugar Bear.

Sugar Bear is a lovely walker and will walk as far as you have time to walk him.  However, he does have a strong prey instinct.  Let him catch sight of a “wascally wabbit” (you can substitute squirrel, chipmunk, or stray cat) and walker beware!  He is a very strong boy and will try to go teach that varmint a lesson.  Bottom line, this young, athletic fellow must be exercised and the person doing the walking must be strong enough to keep him under control and safe until he is better trained.

Sugar is happy to sleep on his nice doggie bed but also would love to join you in your nice people bed.

S.B. is a wonderful traveler and quickly settles down in the back seat.  He is content to sleep on the floor while you read, work or watch TV.  A Smart boy who has not had a accident in the house, has quickly learned to use the doggie door, and will potty on lead.  He is crate trained and has also been left free in the home for periods of time with the other dogs and no people.

This boy is friendly with men, women and children.  He enjoys other dogs no matter the size, age or sex.  S.B. loves a good frisky romp with another doggie friend.  Bottom line, this is one great dog that needs an equally great forever home.

If you think Sugar Bear might be the right dog for you, please apply to Haven to Home Canine Rescue.  If you have questions please email his foster mom at margaretwilliamsharvey@gmail.com. This sweet young dog is lovingly being fostered in Northumberland, PA. 17857.  He is UTD on shots, microchipped, on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative and is neutered.  In other words he is ready to love!
