My name is Pete, aren’t I handsome? Hard to imagine someone would dump me off, but one day I found myself sitting along the highway with no one to help me. I was scared, I waited for hours, and finally some nice people saw me, stopped and convinced me to get in their car. They took me to a house where I had a soft place to sleep and food to eat.
The foster family who is taking care of me has other male dogs to play with, they’re all much smaller than me and I play nice with them all. The kitty there is interesting and I like to watch her and give a little chase every now and then. I sleep in a crate at night, am housebroken, and love to go for walks and romp and play in the yard. Riding in the car is the best, I just lay down on the back seat and cruise along.
Once I get to know you, I’ll show you how much I like a good neck massage, belly rub, or tail scratching. I don’t do that with just anyone though, just people I can trust. I went to the vet and got shots and some tests for worms and stuff and got a clean bill of health I have to go back again on April 20 to get neutered. Yikes! Sweet Pete's foster mom says: He is young (maybe a year or 2), weighs 76 lbs, has great manners, walks nicely on a leash, and knows basic commands. He takes treats gently. Absolutely no food or toy aggression. He would do well in a home with other dogs and a confident pack leader who will continue to help him learn to trust. He has not been around children, but because of his size (and he is a little clumsy/goofy) a home with no small kids would be best. He would make an awesome companion for someone who likes to take their dog along in the car.
