This gorgeous girl is Cleo. She’s a 9 year old spayed pure bred black lab. Cleo came to us as a victim of circumstance. Her owner lost her home, and despite numerous attempts to do so, was unable to find a new home for her beloved companion whom she’s had since she was 4 weeks old. As the ultimate last resort, an appointment was reluctantly made for this vibrant, energetic, loving, wonderful beauty to be euthanized. Luckily, one of our volunteers who learned of Cleo's plight and impending destiny agreed to take her in, the very day prior to her planned fate.

Cleo is completely vetted. Though she is sad to leave her owner of 9 years, she is hoping that someone will love her and give her a wonderful home for the remainder of her life.

update: Her foster mom said she is very playful and energetic. Doesn't seem at all like a 9 year old dog. Out plays her young foster brothers. Great dog.

update 8/23/2011: …. She walks very well on leash, she is super friendly with everyone she meets (I’ve had here at the office 3 times) – people and dogs alike… very well behaved, obedient, easily trainable, wonderful disposition, temperament, very adaptable… she’s an absolute delight… very playful, yet calm and easy going… she’s is the perfect companion!

Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
