Rescue ~ Rehab ~ Rehome

Weatherby is a 5 year old neutered black lab.  He is a really special boy.  Handsome, friendly, well mannered.  Weatherby is good with dogs, cats, and children.  Weatherby likes to ride in the car and is very well behaved.  He is overweight due to lack of attention and exercise, but he still has energy.  Weatherby was relinquished because his owners no longer had time for him.  Despite all this innocent boy has been through, he hasn't lost his trust, faith, or adoration for humans.  This boy deserves the very best home where he will get the love and attention he deserves.  Some lucky person or family will gain a loyal loving companion.  Weatherby is waiting patiently for his special family. 

4/27/2012 Foster Update:  Weatherby had a nice bath and I've begun to brush him.  Looks like he hasn't been brushed in a long time.  He just loves to be brushed.  Took Weatherby for a walk with my two other labs and he did so well.  He walks like such a gentleman on the leash.  Weatherby seemed sad at first, but he's starting to relax and play.  He actually went to the boys' toy box, got out a toy and started to play with it.  It's evident this sweet gentleman had so little for a long time.  He's sweet and obedient.  He jumped onto my bed when it was time to go to bed--I pointed to his bed on the floor and told him off.  He immediately got up, went to his bed, and slept through the night.  All these changes must be exhausting for Poor Weatherby.  I just love him.

5/6/2012 Foster Update:  

Weatherby is just a FABULOUS fellow!! He truly is the perfect dog… not only is he a very handsome boy, but he is just a delight… he’s completely house broken, walks very well on a leash (and with other dogs), eats his meals nicely, well mannered, rides great in the car, is mindful, listens well… he has demonstrated absolutely NO aggression… not with food, bones, toys, baths, other dogs or people… he’s a very tolerant adaptable dog with a wonderful temperament and disposition… he’s quite calm and content… although he currently resides with 2 canine foster brothers, he really doesn’t play with them much… they all just do their own thing and tolerate each other just fine… Weatherby would fit in nicely with other companions or as the only pet… human companionship is of utmost importance to Weatherby… he loves his walks, lounging in the yard, being close to his foster mom, so Weatherby would be an ideal addition to any household, regardless of energy/activity level… a household filled with love, affection, kindness, attention and security is all that is required for this sweet, precious and VERY special boy…

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
