Dixie is starting to become more self assured. With much love and nuturing she is now willing to eat around the other dogs in the house. Prior to this she would cower away from her food if anyone came near her even though she was emaciated when rescued. She is also now willing to take treats from people in the house other than her foster mom. Dixie absolutely adores the 2 year old child who lives in her home. Dixie's foster mom believes that she would flourish with a very patient and gentle owner. A fenced in yard (NOT underground electronic fencing) would be preferred as Dixie loves to run and play. She also loves playing with her canine foster brothers and sisters and does not mind the cats at all. She has made leaps and bounds with regards to trusting others; however, she will need an owner who is willing to work with her. Despite having been horribly neglected for the first year of her life, she is really an incredible dog! Affectionate and sweet! Dixie is :Housetrained, good with other dogs and cats, great with younger children. Though she has gained weight, Dixie has a bit more to gain.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
