About Sadie Mae

Looking for your typical, happy, energetic lab?  Sadie is it.  And as an added bonus, if you're looking for a running partner, this gal is a natural!

Sadie is a black lab who is 1 1/2 yrs old.  (Born 6/24/11) She has lived in her present home since she was a puppy, but due to family circumstances, her family wants her to have a new home.  Sadie is spayed, housebroken, crate trained, and rides well in the car.  She has lived with children who are 3 and 7, but because of her energy level, a new home with kids a little bigger may be a good idea.   She has been to obedience class, knows the basics, is eager to please, and is treat motivated.   She is fine with the other dogs she has met and barely batted an eye when introduced to a cat for the first time.  She needs some work on leash walking and is practicing with a halti. Sadie would love a home where she could get lots of exercise and loving attention.  She is a stick around dog, so would probably be Ok in a country setting without a fence.

11/28/12 Foster Update (Sadie went to a foster home with 2 other labs this week):  She is doing well.  She is no longer crated at night, but is sleeping in the bedroom with foster mom and 2 lab sisters.   She has shown NO sign of food aggression.

She also went for her first run and her foster mom says, "She proved to be one of the best runner friends that I have ever had.  We ran 2.5 miles this morning and we averaged about 9 minutes a mile. That is awesome for a dog that has never run before.  She doesn't pull, doesn't drag you all over the place.  Stays  with you and at your pace."
