Bindi is a 50 lb spitz mix who is about 7 years old. His aging owner had kept him in an outdoor kennel for his whole life, but was having trouble caring for Bindi, so relinquished him to us.
He came to us completely matted, having never been groomed. He was shaved down, but when it grows back, he will have a beautiful, long fluffy white coat with brown spots.
When he lived in the kennel, Bindi received very little attention. His foster home with us is a boarding kennel, but he is getting lots of attention there. He is beginning to enjoy being touched, even to the very tip of his tail He is also beginning to learn how to play and is OK with the other dogs there.
He does not mess in his kennel, so should be easily housetrained. He is a very sweet dog, happy to have someone to notice he is there. Bindi is a sweet dog looking for his chance to have a happily ever after. He was recently neutered and had his shots updated.
If you would like to have Bindi in your home and help him learn what a kind and loving home is all about, fill out our foster or adoption application.
10-13-13 Bindi has been in a foster home living with a family for just a short time. They nicknamed him "Finn" because it is a warrior name and they thought he needed a STRONG name. They brought him to Paws in The Vineyard (a meet and greet event) where there were LOTS of people and other dogs. He LOVED socializing with EVERYONE. His foster family reports that he is LOVING attention after having very little for his whole life. He is thriving with them, is housebroken, and his amazing personality is shining through. With his puppy-like haircut he is extra adorable. They're sure it won't be long until someone adopts him. If you're interested in Bindi/Finn, get your application in soon!
10-15-2013 Officially changing his name to Finn. New life, new dog, new name!
Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.
We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.
We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
Thank you!
