Happy Go Lucky is a spayed, 9 month old Cattle Dog/Jack Russel Mix. She is currently in foster care with other dogs and cats who are very dog friendly. She is more afraid of the cats than aggressive toward them, but if they run, she does chase them -- at a distance.

Lucky just loves to be outdoors so would love to have a fenced in yard where she can explore and bask in the sun. An outdoorsy type owner would be her wish as she would be very happy to go for walks and hikes.

She does fairly well with other dogs although her herding instinct kicks in if the dogs don’t want to engage in her favorite game of “chase”. She will push a dog to play, but if it refuses, she will go find something else to do.

Lucky whines to go out, and sleeps well in her crate - quiet all night. No fussing. She is not really destructive, nor does she guard food or toys. Lucky seems to have no trouble walking away from food, or giving it up to the other dogs.

This pup needs someone who understand that she is in the training phase of her development. She is learning basic commands. Lucky seems to be a little fearful at times, but her handler believes that she will improve as she learns what is expected of her.

Lucky needs a family willing to dedicate some time to her training. Small children are not recommended. Other young pets that like to play would be favorable - dogs over cats are preferred.
