Penny Jean is an adorable 8 month old, 20 lb. Jack Russel/Terrier mix. She is black with wiry hair. Penny has lived in a family with 8 children and is very good with all ages. She is good with dogs but will chase cats. Penny lived on a farm where she was free to roam. Although she was off leash on a large property, she most likely would get into trouble off leash in a neighborhood. Penny will need to be leashed or in a fenced in yard.
Penny was relinquished to Haven to Home because with 8 young children there just wasn't enough time to devote to Penny's training. She is a very alert, smart little dog who learns very fast. Upon first meeting Penny, she was very excited. However, in less than a minute she had calmed. When ignored, she climbed up on the couch and went to sleep. Penny is currently doing well in a foster home with many dogs of different breeds and sizes. She loves to play and would enjoy a friendly, energetic companion. Penny has a high prey drive so should not be placed with cats or other small animals. Penny can be a cuddler when it's time to settle down and relax. She will make an awesome companion for someone who is willing to devote time to training and exercising her. Penny is on heartworm prevention, flea/tick medication and is up to date on vaccines. She is spayed and waiting patiently for her forever home.
