Yellow Labrador Retriever (short coat) : : Male : : Young : : X-Large
Henry came to us as a stray, "ribby" thin and with bite marks on his face and infected wounds on his leg. He was also Lyme positive. Vet estimated his age to be around 2. A weight of 69 pounds was recorded for this tall, leggy, big-footed boy.
Kennel volunteers quickly fell in love with him during his brief stay. He went to a foster home with a little senior dog and multiple felines. He is a perfect gentleman with all of them. Keeping him out of the koi pond is a whole other issue! This boy loves water and is intrigued by the fishy movements. He has been great off leash in the yard (except for jumping in the fish pond) and also walks great on leash. His favorite walk ends up under the bridge where he can splash in the creek, swimming, and slapping at the water and then biting the drops. He is a gentleman in the house, he even went to the door to signal he had to go out within 1/2 hour of arriving in his foster home. He is polite to his little admirer-the resident Senior Westie and showed very little interest in the felines. He only gets on the bed if invited and sleeps quietly all night on his bed on the floor. He knows sit and shake and loves car rides. He is a perfect back seat passenger, lying quietly on the seat. He's not met a human while in our care that he wouldn't consider a friend. An overall awesome dog who is not only incredibly handsome, but sweet too.
