Meet Dixie! She is a spayed, 5 year old, hound mix who is super sweet. Dixie was a bit overweight when she first came to us, but has not only trimmed down to about 50 pounds since being in her foster home, but also has improved her leash manners with frequent walks. Dixie previously lived with other dogs and cats and had been known to give a playful kitty chase from time to time. She is presently living with a smaller male dog and cats. She peacefully lies on the sofa while the one cat harasses her to play...until the 4th swat, then she obliges! She and the foster brother often nap in the same crate. She does seem to prefer the company of male dogs over female dogs. Dixie has shared a human bed with multiple critters in the past, but sleeps in her crate overnight in her foster home. She enjoys when the grand children (age 4 and newborn) come to visit. Dixie is a great dog looking for a great forever home.
