Sheep Dog / Poodle (Miniature) : : Medium
Savannah is a female sheepadoodle who was in a breeding program for a short time. She is currently living in a foster situation with two other friendly dogs and is learning much from following their lead. Her foster mom describes her as a snuggler and a "quick" learner.
Savannah is housetrained and hasn't had accidents except for an occasional dribble when she becomes overly excited or nervous. The crate is not her favorite place to be, but she will go into the crate when encouraged with treats. At other times, her crate is her safe place where she will happily rest with the door open. Savannah is learning to play with toys, although noisy toys can be a little scary. Fast movements and loud noises sometimes make her cower--but she is improving. She is curious but tentative and has assimilated nicely into the foster family. We do not recommend young children due to her shyness. At the present time her leash skills are improving slowly and when on a long lead, she is coming when called. Savannah would do best in a home where someone is home much of the time and a fenced yard would be a plus!
Savannh is due to be spayed soon. She is up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. H2H does not place dogs on a first come/first serve basis. We are committed to placing our rescue dogs in a home where they will be successful and are well matched to new owner and environment.
