Update from Chip's foster mom, 10/26: Chip is a great running partner. We are now up to 3 miles, every other day. He also knows his commands to Sit and Shake. We are still working on the come command. He loves all animals including kittens and other dogs. Does great in crowds with lots of people. He is a truly wonderful dog, who needs a wonderful active home. Chip is a 30-35 pound Flat Coated Retriever/ Chow mix (we think) who is estimated to be 2-3 years old. In these photos, he has been shaved, but will likely have a full, thick coat when grown out, his tail is full and fluffy and his ears have crimpy/wavy hair. He is in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and chickens/ducks. He'll give the chickens or cats a playful little chase every now and then, but doesn't hurt them. He enjoys running and playing in the creek (evidenced by his wet head in the pictures!). He is learning to walk on a leash. His foster mom says that he is a very good boy, a real lovebug and likes to sit close or lean into a human ready to cuddle. He doesn't like to be crated. Needs a home, maybe with older children, that is active and can provide structure and routine for him. He was evaluated by a dog trainer and he gave him a 9 out of 10 points!!!! He says he is a great dog!
