My name is Ranger and I am waiting for my forever home.  I am 4 years old and my foster mom says I am very puppy-like.  She says that because I am so curious, energetic, and enthusiastic.  I never really had a chance to be a puppy before now. Until I met my foster family, I was tied to a dog house and basically forgotten.  When rescued, I was nothing but skin and bones; thirsty and hungry.  I have learned so much at my foster home.  I am crate trained, housetrained, and I have learned basic commands like sit, down, come, speak, focus, and leave it.  I am working hard to learn the command STAY.  I love to chase balls and toys and most of the time I try to return them quickly.  I like to play with other dogs; but some dogs think I am too active and they misread my intentions. When I go to the dog park, I love to run with the pack; but I always return when my Mom calls me.  At home, I play nicely with my friend, Baby, who is a German Shepherd. My other foster sister and brother prefer to be let alone.

Because I spent so much time alone, I would like a home where my owner has time to spend with me. I don't like being alone.  I love to cuddle and kiss.  I also would like to have a furry friend who is easy going and likes to play.  If I am crated, I just can’t help barking unless a  friend is crated beside me.  It is easy to tell when I have to go out to potty—I prance back and forth to let my family know.  If they aren’t going out with me, I run out the door, do my business as fast as I can, and race right back in.  I’m so afraid they won’t be there if I don’t hurry back.  My foster family has a teenage son, who I am slowly warming up to.  Some boys treated me badly, so it has taken me a while to start to trust again.  Girls don’t scare me—just boys—but I’m trying very hard to overcome my fear.

An ideal day in my life would be:  riding in a car/van, a long walk, going to the dog park, a hamburger at McDonalds (yum), play time with my friends (human and canine), cuddle time on someone’s lap and ….oh yes, a warm cozy place to sleep.  My mom has soft blankets in my crate and I just can’t go to sleep without them.

I am a very handsome, loving boy who would be a great companion for an active person or family. Won’t you consider giving me a loving forever home?
