About Oakley Ann

  • Current Size: 14 Pounds
  • Current Age: 1 Year 1 Month (best estimate)

How cute is this 7 month old, 16 pound, baby JUG  girl!  (Jack Russel/Pug mix).   She is as sweet as she is cute from her perfectly marked white paws, chest, and face to the white tip of her tail.  The rest of her coat is a beautiful shade of chestnut.  She is absolutely stunning!

If her looks don’t win you over, her outgoing, friendly, never-met-a stranger-she doesn't-like attitude will.  Oakley is an equal opportunity lover and likes men, women, and children equally.  No surprise that Oakley wants to be a Walmart Greeter when she grows up :)

I do not have a cat but she lived with cats in her original home.  From what I understand, Oakley liked to hold them down and lick them.  When she was cat tested, she was happy to meet the cat lady but then she was excited about the cats. Sensing her high energy, the cats went to higher ground and she then didn’t bother them.   There was a baby kitten present when she was "cat tested" and once she realized she wasn’t going to be allowed in the playpen, she ignored it.  There was no barking or trying to get the kitten or cats.  Bottom line, Oakley was interested but not aggressive.

Speaking of cats, I believe that in addition to the Jack Russell/Pug mix she just might have a touch of cat in her!  Oakley jumps onto my very high bed and table. She surfs the kitchen table as others before her have done, but I have never had a dog that used the commode to get to the bathroom counter where she strolls along and checks to make sure I am brushing my teeth well.

Oakley has brains as well as beauty.  She can now use a doggie door, walk on a leash for a good distance, and is learning some tricks.  A fun fact about this girl is that she is highly treat motivated and just loves to eat in general.  This has helped immensely in helping this puppy go from clueless about house manners to well on her way to being clean in the house.  Consistency and frequency in taking her out are helping her ace "Puppy House Training 101."

Oakley Ann has lived with a group of dogs in her original home as well as her foster home. However, we believe she would benefit as an "only dog" as she loves having all the attention. She loves sitting in your lap while you watch TV and going for rides in the car.  Oakley Ann is the best little snuggle bug in bed at night!  She is clean when left in her crate.

If you are interested in being considered to adopt Oakley, apply to Haven to Home Dog Rescue.  If you have questions please email her foster mom at margaretwilliamsharvey@gmail.com.  She is lovingly being fostered in Northumberland, PA. 17857.  She is UTD on shots, on heartworm/flea/tick preventative and is spayed.  In other words she is ready to love!
