Rescue ~ Rehab ~ Rehome

Teddy is a 6 or 7 year old Cockapoo with an adorable, tightly-curled tail. His former owner gave him up because she didn't have time to spend with him and he was being crated a lot. He has been in a foster home for about a month and has really blossomed! He is housebroken and crate trained. He loves to sleep in bed with the pre-teen daughter who helps care for him, so he doesn't sleep in the crate any more at night. He has been exposed to young children and a cat in his foster home and done well with them. The foster family is working diligently with him on good dog manners.

His foster mom says: Teddy is doing well with leash walking. He still gets really excited to go outside when he sees the leash and we are working on him being calm, then we go for a walk. He loves playing ball.. We are also teaching him to wait to be invited to sit on someone's lap, so he doesn't just jump up, but he is so very sweet and affectionate and loves being around the family and now he and our little dog sleep in the crate together. He would be great in a home where he can have someone play with him. He loves his walks, rides nice in the car, and he really wants to please.

Note: Teddy had previously been listed as being 10 years old. When we initially received him from the relinquishing owner, we were told he was 10. When we recently reviewed the vet records received from the owner, they indicate his age is more like 6-7 years old. This is much more in line with what the foster family has observed. They had even commented "it's hard to believe he is 10 years old because he is so active and playful." And we later learned he doesn't act like he's 10, because he isn't!
