Pickles was taken in by a family when a co-worker could no longer keep her. The kind family who took her in don't really have time for a young dog because of their long work hours.  They were told she is a Springer Spaniel Mix, although she pretty much looks like a true mixed breed, we think we see a glimpse of Cattle Dog.

Pickles weighs around 35 lbs, is around 1 year old, is friendly and playful, has been around kids and other dogs, playfully chases the cat.  She is new to our rescue and will be going to a foster home soon.  Check back for updates as we get to know her better.  She will be vetted and spayed on January 18 and available for adoption after that.

January 11 Update:

She has been in a foster home a few days.  She has proven to be housebroken and stays in her crate when no one is home.  Her foster mom says the family that adopts her will be blessed with joy and love.  She loves going for walks, is content to sit at her foster mom's feet during quiet time, or lay her head in foster mom's lap.  She likes playing with toys and enjoys her chewies.  See the photos of her looking for a place to bury her bone and finding the perfect place between the couch cushions. She is learning to stay off the bed and she loves to play in the snow.

She did great with a bath the first day in her foster home and her many black spots were charmingly visible.
