Redbone Coonhound / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large Learn more about the Redbone Coonhound.
Red is a very young male hound mix. Those evaluating him believe that he may be a Vizsla mix. Poor Red was dumped from a car in a nearby community and was found playing with some children when his rescuer caught him. Red seems to enjoy the company of dogs, loves kids, and is not very interested in cats he has met. One of the H2H volunteers took him to play at a nearby dog park and he was happy to run and sniff the area. When he heard children playing in the distance, he stopped what he was doing (that's impressive for a hound) and seemed to want to join the kids. After romping in the dog park, the volunteer took him to her home where he behaved like he had once been a housedog. He accepted treats nicely while standing beside the volunteer's dog and drank water from a bowl side by side with the other dog. He exhibited no sign of resource aggression. Red enjoyed his car ride--again riding side by side in the back seat with another dog. He was everybit the gentleman on his outing. Won't you consider making Red your forever companion?
