Here is Daisy Rae who was found in rural Lewisburg. She is probably a Chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix with both short and wiry hair.   She was found sleeping in the open garage of a kind family who took her in.  She has been advertised as "found", but it seems no one is looking for her.  She has not been vetted yet, but appears to be young (just a little tarter on her teeth) and healthy.  She will be spayed and completely vetted before she is adopted.

The family caring for her report that she is friendly with visitors, very good with their cat, loves to sit on laps, cuddle up on the couch, and follow the foster mom around.  She is housebroken and they do not crate her and she is well-behaved when home alone in the house.  She is very food-motivated "will work for treats"! And while a little thin when first found, only eats what she wants of the free fed food, and is putting on a little weight now.  She plays with some toys and LOVES to be outside on leash doing terrier-like things such as sniffing for rabbits and other good smelling things and digging in the leaves.  She is not a great car passenger, but would benefit from a dog car harness.

If you are looking for a moderately active little lap dog who will be a devoted companion, this may be the girl for you.

UPDATE:    Daisy was vet checked and is being treated for Lymes Disease.  She must not have been feeling well because of it, because she is now perkier since her treatment began and has begun to sometimes chase the indoor cat at her foster home.  There are also some outdoor/stray cats there that she  watches from the window and gets excited about.  It seems those are the times when she wants to chase the indoor cat and gets herself into trouble.   Daisy did live peacefully with the cat prior to this.  In a home where she gets plenty of exercise, does not have the outside stimulus, and where someone is willing to work with her, she should do Ok with cats again.
