Pepper Girl needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Pepper was found as a stray near a campground and no one seems to be looking for her. She is a fox terrier or mix, around 5 years old, and has pretty tri-color markings. She is friendly, peppy, enjoys good sniffing walks and would love nothing better than to be able to chase a rabbit or squirrel! She is presently being kenneled because there is no foster home available. She does not mess in the kennel, but waits for 'her walkers' to come and take her out. She is a great companion for a brisk, long walk and does well on the leash. Pepper enjoys all kinds of toys and greets the volunteers caring for her with wags and happy woofs. She has done well with most other dogs she has been around. She was initially given flea preventative and wormer medicine preventatively. She was updated on shots and vet checked. Pepper would probably do best in a home with a big fenced yard. A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME IS REALLY NEEDED FOR PEPPER SOON! 6/2 One of the voluneers caring for Pepper took her for a jog. Here is what she said: Pepper is a great running companion! I was so surprised. I thought she would pull me. We ran almost 3 miles. She didn't pull. She didn't chase after the squirrels or rabbits. She was focused and stayed with me the entire time.
We were probably running 9 minute miles, but she still had no problems keeping up. And she probably could have ran another 3 laps.
6/5 Pepper was recently moved to a foster home and did fine with the cat there. She actually surprised us by her dis-interest in the cat. She is, however, selective about the other dogs that she likes and doesn't like. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet.
