Onyx is an 8 year old male black lab. It's easy to fall in love with this sweet boy within a few minutes of meeting him. He loves hugs and attention and is willing to please. Onyx is painfully thin but we're hoping with more calories and better food he'll start to put on the weight that he's lost. His coat is shiny and his eyes bright. All tests done so far to explain his weight loss have come back negative. He is being neutered today, May 2, 2014.
Onyx is a very well behaved boy. He knows sit, down, crawl, come, and he sits up, crosses his paws to say "grace". This boy is very special and he needs a foster or permanent home as soon as possible. His owner is leaving the area within the next few weeks and Onyx will be homeless. Please consider helping sweet Onyx--you won't regret your committment to him as he will commit his heart to you for a kind hand, warm place to sleep, good food, and some doggie hugs.
Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
