Halo needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Halo is an approximately 2-3 year-old Great Dane/Shepherd/Husky mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. Halo was adopted from Haven to Home 8 months ago by a family who, unfortunately, does not have the time to spend with Halo that she needs.
Halo originally lived in a family with kids, cats and dogs and often napped with their 2 year-old child. In Halo’s second family, she lived with a teenager and his parents, and was wonderful with their extended family, including grandchildren. The family says Halo has “come a long way” since they’ve had her and everyone who meets her, loves her.
The perfect family for Halo will be one who can spend a lot of time with her. She is gentle and loving and enjoys companionship. If left alone too often and/or too long, however, her anxiety gets the best of her, and she can become a counter surfer, garbage eater, etc. Crating is not an option, as she can become destructive to the crate and even herself.
Halo is capable of scaling fences – even 6-foot ones! – so care will need to be taken to keep her safe if outside. She’s still learning leash manners, but loves to lounge (the current family says she’s kind of a couch potato). Halo is a sweet dog who deserves a forever home that is truly committed to her for a lifetime. She is a “good dog,” eager to please and generous with her love.
