Koda is a 5 year old malamute/husky/lab mix with striking blue eyes and a gorgeous cream colored coat.   This 60 pound sweetheart loves people!  He looks to his human to see what is going to happen next. Koda has learned some basic commands in the short time he has been in his foster home as well as perfecting his already great leash walking skills. (Pretty impressive since he had never been on a leash before!) He has gone jogging with his foster mom too and loved it, but he loves to play a good game of fetch even more!   He is food motivated and will thrive with an owner that is calm, patient, and will continue to use positive reward methods for training as he is a sensitive soul.

Koda came from a backyard breeder situation, where he didn't get along with his brothers and father. He is currently fostered with a mellow and submissive female dog, and he adores her! However, he still shows some hesitation around other male dogs, and may do best with another female, or with a more submissive, calm male. He has shown no resource guarding or food aggression with either dogs or humans.

He is living with a cat, something he had not encountered before.  He was curious and true to his playful nature, wanted to play - the cat was having no part of it though. However, he has learned to not bother the cat and the two are able to peacefully cohabitate. Therefore, he would do well with a dog-savy cat and an owner willing to continue working on the "leave it" command. Children (over 7) have been encountered while out on walks and he was fine with them.  He has not been around kids off leash while in our care though.

Koda rides well in the car and is crate trained.  He is house trained, was recently neutered, updated on vaccines and is ready for a responsible forever home.
