Bailey

Hi

I don’t suppose that you will remember us but we lived on John Brady Drive, Muncy for over 9 years. In around September/October 2008, you found us an amazing dog; a female German Shepherd who belonged to a Military family from Lewisburg, PA. You introduced us to Bailey and it was love at first sight. Here is our story about Bailey’s life.

Whilst living in Muncy, we were fortunate enough to have had access to 800 acres of woodland, fields, streams and nature (part of the Muncy Farms estate). Bailey soon settled into her new life – a very different one from previously we believe. She quickly became adept at finding the chipmunks that lived around the grounds; her hunting instincts never far away. She dispatched many groundhogs in her time and chased the squirrels up every single tree in the yard ! Her mischievous nature was always apparent, particularly when she would pinch & eat the unripe tomatoes in our garden ! Windfall apples were also a firm favorite.  On the odd occasion, we would give Bailey some Sam’s Club chicken (which she absolutely adored) and even a tiny little piece of Dominos Pizza ! She relished any tiny little snippets of “naughty food” we gave her.

In January 2018 we sadly had to leave America after my husband’s work finished and so after completion of the copious amounts of paperwork, trips to Harrisburg, PA, vaccines, medications etc that were required in order to take her with us and with heavy hearts, we all flew back to the UK – an 8+ hour flight.  It’s been a very different life in the UK; gone are all the chipmunks, possums, groundhogs, bears, field corn etc. Nothing so diverse here !

After a couple of months in the UK, we decided to move to Crete, Greece for a while where we have family and so Bailey once again had her passport stamped, medications re-administered, Veterinary check completed and was flown from London Heathrow to Athens, Greece – some 4 hours. After we collected her from Athens, Greece, we sailed overnight from Pireaus to Heraklion, Crete where we lived for a further 15 months. By this time, Bailey had developed Lymes disease and also had difficulty walking. She was becoming deaf and following all the stick, stone & ball chewing, her teeth also were also suffering. It was at this point that we decided to relocate back to the UK where the climate is less harsh and there is an abundance of green spaces. So once again, she flew on a plane – for the third time in her life - this time into Belgium, where she was collected by an animal charity, driven through France and the Channel Tunnel followed by a 7 hour drive back up to Yorkshire, England.

We had 9 more months together and continued to play ball with her, walked often and enjoyed her company. On Friday is was her time to leave us and we are all devastated.

She has been the most amazing dog – an American darling - and such a spirited and gentle natured character. Apart from all the joy she brought us, she has got to have been one of the most well travelled dogs ever !! We all miss her terribly but are so thankful to have had her in our lives.

So thank you for the introduction and for all the work that you do. We will remember your organization and Bailey for the rest of our lives.

Bonham

Gunnar formerly known as Bonham and his brother Noah. He was adopted in the beginning of the year. His adopter sent this to me. Certainly helped brighten my day.

Bullet
Bullet

One of our fosters shared this. The quote is from the adopter and the testimonial is from the foster. Thanks Mandy and Evan for your hearts for fostering and to Jen and family for adopting and giving his special pair a forever home. "We love our hounds so much! They are doing wonderful and we couldn’t be happier with them!" - To think we almost lost Penny last Spring, and look at her now!! We gave this family the option to only adopt her son, Bullet, since Penny had serious health issues. The adoptive mom broke down in tears because as a mom herself, she could never split Penny up from Bullet. Once Penny was stable and nearing the end of her treatment, she and Bullet went on to live the happiest life imaginable with their new family!! They are so fortunate that this family moved from California and found them. These pups stayed with us for 6 months, with many emergency vet trips along the way. If I had to pick just one success story to share, THIS is my very favorite. The family stays in touch and sends wonderful pictures of Penny and Bullet. Makes my heart so happy

Bryce

Bryce loves to swim, hike, and fetch tennis balls, he has even mastered catching them in the air! Every morning, Bryce gets up around 5 am to come cuddle between mom and dad. It's his daily routine but we love every minute. He is most certainly the greatest joy in our lives. He is so spoiled and loved by everyone! He is so over the moon happy, all of the time. I get so many compliments.

Bruce

Every night before I go to bed I say a prayer of gratitude that I was rescued and found a forever home.  That means I am not out running the street, I am not cold or lonely or scared or hungry. Now, I get to go to the vets and have regular checkups and I have lots of good food every single day.  Wow, I never knew it was suppose to be like this!  I go on these walks with my humans and we even go to the dog park and to the Marina.   I love my new home!

But like most things, it’s a two way street. My mom was really sad when I came to her house because her brother and her niece had just died a couple of days before.  I figured out really quickly that she was going need me to make her laugh and would need a ton of loving.  So every morning, like clockwork, I crawl under the covers and cuddle up with my mom.  After some serious loving, I help my mom get dressed by bringing her shoes and socks to her.  Actually she’s always getting me to do things for her, shut doors, pick stuff up and put my toys away.  It’s really important that I make my humans laugh so I zip around the house, look at them with eyes that melt their hearts, and they really crack up when I “talk” to them.  I have learned a ton of tricks just to keep them amused. You can see that I have some serious responsibilities at my new home.

One of my most important jobs is to make sure my mom goes out for a walk a couple of times a day.  These humans really need to get some fresh air and sunshine and I am just the guy to make sure they do.  Oh yeah, I have a handicapped fur brother who’s getting older.  He doesn’t have any teeth and only has one eye, so I have to look out for him too.  He was really afraid of dogs, but he loves me almost as much as my humans do.

I think tonight when I go to bed, I am going to say a prayer that all the lost, deserted, sick, and old dogs out there get to find a loving home where they can do important things like me.

My real name is Prozac because my mom says I’ve been like a little anti-depressant, but if you see me around you can just call me:

Zac
