Ducky
Ducky

Dear   Haven to Home,

So much has happened since you rescued me!

Mom and Dad call me "Charlie" now.  I like it and I even have a   shiny new nametag for my new collar!

My first night I was sad and scared but since then, I have settled into   my furever home very nicely. I have a brother and a sister and a Mom and Dad   who love me very much.  I was a little afraid of Dad at first but he is   so patient and kind that I'm starting to come around.  I can't get enough   of my Mom and follow her wherever she goes.  My favorite is when she sits   on the couch to watch TV and I can crawl right up on her lap and lay my head   on her chest and fall asleep.  She pets me all the time!

I have a big yard and can run and play as much as I want.  I think   this summer my brother and I will be able to catch a couple of the chipmunks I   see running around, maybe even a rabbit!  Right now I mostly like to   sniff the new smells and roll in the grass.

Mom and Dad take me for a walk or two every day around the neighborhood.    Lots of neighbors come to see me and kids love to pet me (probably   because I'm so cute!).  Mom has lots of good food and homemade treats for   me.

Sometimes I forget that I need to go outside to use the bathroom.    Mom and Dad are patient with me though.  They know I'm still a   puppy and still learning. When I do remember to go outside, I get lots of   kisses and "good boy"s!  I know I'll get the hang of it real soon!

I know I am loved and safe and I'm learning that I'll never have to worry   or be scared or be hungry ever again. Thank you for rescuing me!

Love and kisses,

Charlie (aka Ducky)

Prince Maxwell

Max was just adopted a few months ago. He just graduated from puppy kindergarten at Pawsitively Obedience in Turbotville. His mom said, "Max did well @puppy kindergarten, he was nervous most of the time, but he got through it! "

Chloe

Hi everyone at H2H, just wanted to give you an update on Chloe!

5/2/2012

Here’s Chloe, our beautiful St. Bernard, hanging out in one of her favorite spots this winter, on the picnic table guarding over the back yard ... She loves, loves, loves the snow, tolerates our two cats (one of which taunts her daily) and is so very patient with our son and his friends. She is totally a lap dog, gallops like a horse but looks like a big clumsy puppy. She is such a goofball! She’s perfect! Thanks H2H for making our family complete!

Rooney

Rooney, now Eddie, enjoying his new home! Thank you so much for everything you have done for Eddie and me.  I am totally in love with this little guy!!! And Heather is a very special person!  She has been great since Eddie came home.

Rachael

Layla came to us as a foster  in the spring of 2010 at 9 months of age.  She was so painfully shy and fearful it made our hearts ache.  She joined a pack of boxers in our home who are dearly loved.  A few months after coming to live with us as a foster, our wonderful fawn boxer was diagnosed with Lymphoma.  He died a few months later, and needless to say, Layla was added to our family permanently.  Rachael came to H2H in August of 2010 (age 2 years old) and was fostered by a wonderful family.  Unfortunately, Rachael had a suspicious heart murmur which looked like early heart disease.  No one seemed willing to adopt her due to a possible short life for this gorgeous sweet girl.  So, when her foster family had a change in their work schedules, my husband and I took Rachael to foster in December of 2010.  She’s now a permanent part of our family and she’s doing great.  She and Layla are best buddies who wrestle and enjoy running on our small horse farm.  They have added so much to our family.  So, we are foster failures (a humorous term we at h2h use for people who adopt their foster dogs) and we happily admit it.  These two wonderful dogs now live with Pudgie, a rescued Jug, and Bentley an 8 year old brindle boxer.
