Chunkita

Chunkita went home with her new family at an adoption event in August 2010.

Cowboy

Hi everyone, Just wanted you to know how the two are doing. Apache aka Piper is doing just great. She likes going out in our backyard and trying to find and catch rabbits. She follows their trail by her nose, but as much as she tries she hasn't caught on yet. We think she might be part cat. When she get up from a nap she'll arch her back like a cat, she likes batting a ball or toy with her paws, and she likes to jump up and/or climb on things. She has at least a 3 foot vertical jump, that's how high our bed is and she can jump up on it and land with all 4 of her feet on the bed. And we have a pile of logs in the back yard and she likes to climb up on them and look down at Scout. Scout aka Cowboy is also doing okay. He likes our backyard also, but just goes out and enjoys being out, not doing anything in particular. His heart is as big as the outside, but he's a little slow on picking things up. You just have to love him, because nothing seems to faze or bother him. He always seems to have a clueless look on his face. When we call to get both of them in , he'll just look at you at first and seem to say "You talking to me?". And he's quite awkward at jumping up on the chair or couch. He just has to have everything just right or he can't do it. They both will follow either myself or Tina out in the backyard anytime we go out. We have a doggie door so they can go out on their own. They will go on their own to go to the bathroom or to go out and play with eachother. I'm really glad you let us adopt both of them, they are attached at the hip normallly and would be lost without each other. They will go out and chase each other and play hide-n-seek around the bushes and trees. Apache is always rolling Scout over even though he is about 10 pounds heavier and bigger. That's just the way he is. And they like getting on their back feet and wrestling each other. Apache is a little backward when she meets someone new, but Scout goes right up to them and wants petted. Again, thank you so very much for letting us adopt both of them. They are fairly new to our family, but don't know what we would do without either one. Ed and Tina Palmeter

Cooper

Hi Robin, Cooper learned the fence in 1 training and is excellent even when the 2 dogs are playing and running. The active fence also stopped Cooper from chasing the sheep and the goats. He really thought that was fun but they never really appreciated it. We did get Cooper trimmed because of the upcoming flea and tick season. He did well at the groomer but was not fond of the dryer. We sent Sugar along so he wouldn't feel so alone. We were surprised when we got him home because he has webbed toes just like Sugar and did he ever look like a lab puppy after he lost his curls. He is doing very well although we must keep reinforcing some basic commands - like sit and stay. We are working on breaking him from jumping on everyone and everything. and "leave it" for the cats - he really enjoys the little sprints but the cats are wearing a bit weary. He just loves being outside and digging. Sugar and Cooper are our resident excavation company. He just loved our Granddaughter - Emily. She covers him up with blankets and reads to him. He sat for hours watching cartoons with her. We will keep you posted. That little guy is always into something and so amusing. Lyn
