Murphy

Hi Haven   to Home,

I just wanted to give you a quick update.  I am loving my new   home.  My mom is just the best and the kids love to play ball with me in   the yard.  I am trying my best to be a good boy but I have real problems   when they leave me here alone.  My mom sometimes takes me to doggie day   care just so I won't rip the curtains off the windows.  I love playing   with my friends at doggie day care!  I am really trying hard to stop   ripping things up when they leave me but I just cant seem to help   myself.

I have lots of toys here and so many bones that I am not sure which one I   should chew on first.  The yard is great and I get to play ball every   day!!!!  Much better than living out of garbage cans.  (even though   I do my best to get into the garbage at least once a day!)

I wanted to thank you for finding me a good home!  Without you I   would still be on the run and who knows where I would have ended up.  I   am starting to gain some weight and love to get baths....splashing that water   all over the bathroom is just about as much fun as you can have in one   day!

Mom says she might bring me to one of your adopt a thons so that I can   say hello....I am hoping that I get to see all of you some day soon so I can   give kisses and hugs to all of you who saved me!

Have a wonderful Mothers Day!

Thanks Again!

Marley

Marley (now Chloe) came to us in December.  (She's the second from the right). She fit right in with our packs, both human and dog.  My one daughter dresses her up daily in all her little dog clothes and Chloe doesn't mind a bit.  My other daughter loves to take her for walks because she is an awesome jogging partner.  She and Zoe, the pom pup, are inseparable.  They are constantly chasing each other and taking each other's toys.  Chloe is the funniest dog that we've ever had.  She makes us laugh every day!  She loves to walk across the kitchen floor on her back legs when we are carrying food – just in case we drop something.  She is full of energy and loves everyone.  She plays hard and then falls asleep on John for her naps.  She is an absolute joy for us and we appreciate her being in our lives.  Thanks Haven to Home!

Maisy

In 55 years of breeding, training, and loving Labradors, I can honestly say that I have never had a better, more loving, smarter dog than Amber. As you remember, she didn't even know her name (so we renamed her) nor did she understand the value of human contact. The first time we saw her, Kay stayed out in the car while I signed papers. When I came out Kay told me that she had talked and cooed to her for five minutes, and the dog showed no response. Kay said that she might as well as had the radio on. Frankly, we were not sure what we had gotten in to. We were a little concerned if she would ever adjust to human contact. Well, within two days she was house broken and learning to sit. Now, after three months, she sits, stays, comes, retrieves, and a dozen other commands that I use for our convenience around the house. Regarding her responding to love, she has been amazing. The first two days, she wasn't at all sure what affection was, nor whether she liked it. On the third night, I as sitting in my recliner scratching her under her chin. I then began to massage her around the jowls and ears. Her eyes softened and she began to lean into me. Suddenly, she began talk to me with a very low- throated purring sound that sounded almost like a groan. I slid onto the floor with her and took her in my arms. For more that an hour, we "talked" with each other, and generally petted, leaned, stroked and loved each other. Since then, all of our lives have all been enriched. One of the pictures I am attaching shows her with her front feet on my lap. She does that on command and then just sits there and "talks" to me while I stroke her. You can see the love in her eyes. She is a delight. We tell all our friends that she is a rescue dog--She rescued us! Thank you for bring her into our lives. Chuck & Kay

Maddie

I realized I have never sent you an update on Maddie Mooch.  She is doing wonderfully.  I have attached a few photos from Fall 2009 until now.  Hope you enjoy.  She's had a new brother for about 7months, a husky who she loves.  He is 4 years old.  She goes hiking with us and swimming often.  She goes for a nice walk by the stream everyday.  She is very happy.
