Rescue ~ Rehab ~ Rehome

Just read the Haven newsletter and thought I would send some pictures of Bella! She has adjusted well to us and we all love her! She loves to play catch, we have learned that she is an excellent swimming and she just loves hanging in the yard and lounging around! I think the pictures will come in two emails -- some are of her and the kids playing catch, some are of her lounging around (and trying out her new dog bed), and a few are of her laying with the kids at night during story time. :) She is such a great dog! I will have to get pictures of her swimming and send to you! She loves the water and is a natural!

My mission right now is to find an indestructible ball for her! She has this one ball and it's deflated and shredded but she goes to it every time -- I think she will go into depression if I ever throw it out! Need to find something else for her!

Anyway -- we are enjoying our summer! And we are so happy to have found Bella!

Oliver with his two-legged sister and brother. Recently at "sister" Ella's birthday she asked friends for donations to H2H instead of presents for herself. What a selfless act for this young girl!

Marna, FYI ... J-Jay is changing every day. From the moment we got home he has watched our interaction with Winston. The hugs & snuggling . When Winston comes for hugs, Jay has stood back, usually smiling,kind of dancing and prancing around. Yesterday we had to go to a memorial service for my uncle. When we got home they both met us at the door ( J-Jay isn't using the crate very much any more) Winston jumped into my arms for a hug. J-Jay wanted a hug so badly. I sat on the couch and asked him if he wanted a hug also. He jumped onto the couch and walked into my arms for a long hug. He layed his head on my arm and cuddled. This morning he came up to me in bed and kissed me good morning just like Winston does. They both are more comfortable relaxing while I go about doing my cleaning etc. J-Jay is home.

Just wanted to let you know we love Turkey so much!!!! She is a blessing and everything is going VERY WELL!!!!!
 

Well it has been over a year now since we adopted Nadia and next month will be a year since Kahla joined our family. Kahla's name was just Piper, but we decided to name her Kahla Piper Kear. Although they are both mixed. Nadia has more Labrador Retriever in her blood line. She definitely looks like a Lab and her personality traits are almost identical to a Lab. She loves to play, swim and play tag with her sister. Her favorite toy of course is a ball. She loves to play fetch, and she is the first dog we have ever owned that brings the ball back.
