Smores Smores new mom and dad and their grand daughter stopped in at our January 2012 adoption event at Brookpark Pet. Smores was sporting a fashionable coat and enjoyed posing for a cuddle shot with one of his favorite people. He is obviously very loved!
Brodie (a.k.a Bubba Vallari) Attached are pictures of Brodie (we have been calling him Bubba he seems to respond better to that for us). As you will see, he is fitting in quite well with the rest of our "pack". We did not have any major issues with the introductions and they all took to each other quickly. He is starting to seem as if he is really getting comfortable here and realizing he will be staying. An interesting note that will show how in tune he is with the other dogs is that Toffee (the old one that Bubba is laying next to in some of the pictures) wasn't feeling well over the weekend. At any rate, I was up with Toffee all night until we could get him to the vet and Bubba would come check on him about every 20 minutes throughout the night to make sure he was ok and has been laying next to him quite often. He won't even play around him (I think he is worried he will hurt him). We are very happy to have Bubba as part of our family. Kim and Brian
Thor January 15, 2012 From: Thor Re: Me and My Daddy Hi my name is Thor and my Daddy (Chuck) adopted me just recently and he has given me a wonderful, great, new, happy, clean, nice and warm new home. I love my Daddy and I can tell he loves me sooo very much, he shows me every day first thing in the very early moming he takes me for a long walk in the large park across from my new home here in the country. I do my duty and my Daddy even picks up ater me when I am done. I have been cold but we have a nice clean warm home, its never cold here next to my Daddy. I do have my own bed but my Daddy warts me to sleep with him and next to him so I do and love being close to him all night long. After our walk we play with my toys inside and I have my own comfortable chair where I sit on top and look out all the big windows we have and get to watch the big wild ducks and the squirrels and all the birds outside. As I look out my windows my Daddy likes to sing with me so I give him good tune everyday. I get all proper food and water and meds I need. He just bought me a new collar and more toys. I like to ride in his truck when we go somewhere and I am always a good boy when we ride somewhere together. My life is so happy and I love to make my Daddy happy he tells me that all the time. He calls me his Little Buddy and told me I am the best thing that ever happened to him. Thank you Saint Francis for sending me my Daddy and I know he thanks you every day. When it gets warm we have lots of exercise and things we can do outside on his soon to be enclosed new deck and yard. Life is good for me, I hope all my friends at Haven to Home can soon be happy and loved as I have found. Sincerely; Thor and My Daddy: Chuck
Tippy Doo Ellie (Tippy Doo) is settling in here great! From the minute she got here, she's been such a good girl. She really is the perfect dog for us! Our two-year-old, Charley, just loves her. The first day, Charley really put Ellie to the test in terms of how much pestering she could take -- Ellie was so tolerant. Charley is starting to back off a bit now that she's been here a few days. We also had a lot of company over on Saturday afternoon, and Ellie didn't seem to mind. She's really a very mellow, flexible dog. In the mornings, I've taken Ellie up the mountain for a hike (about 60-90 minutes). We've been wearing our safety orange -- we each have a vest. She's great on leash -- once we get going, she hardly pulls at all. She doesn't get overly excited, but she seems to like to explore and sniff. We're training her on the invisible fence. No shocks, just beeps. She seems to have had experience with one, because she's really aware of it. We're working on getting her comfortable in the whole yard, so that she learns she can run and play in the whole area. Attached are two pictures of Ellie in her favorite spot -- the couch. It's all hers! Chris has his chair, and I use the loveseat, so she gets the big couch! We couldn't be happier with her! Thank you so much! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
