Shianne

Dear Haven to Home volunteers and staff, I have meant to write earlier, but we have been busy enjoying Maycie (formerly Shianne), who quickly has become a part of our family and our hearts. We have discovered some of the things she likes best (baby carrots for snacks, her squeaky bone) and some of the quirky things she does (falling asleep with her belly in the air, following the vacuum cleaner until Daddy goes over her fur with the brush attachment!). On another bright note, Maycie has slimmed down from 103 pounds (at adoption) to 95 pounds, from her daily walks and exercise. We bring her to the Susquehanna Trail Dog Training Club on Tuesday nights for extra training and socialization. She’s been a real sweetie! I hope these pics give you a sense of reward for the work you do. We had a great experience with Haven to Home, and have already recommended your organization to friends looking to adopt. Best wishes, and thank you again. We're so happy to be providing a new home for such a wonderful dog. Jen and Heath

Abe

Good day Forever Rescue, First I need to tell you that as a family we renamed Abe, Guinness. Guinness has brought a new energy to our family, including our 16 year old dog Chrissy! We are in love and so grateful that he was rescued by such kind people so that we could have him as part of our family. He is on a schedule with lots of playing, walks, training and he even goes to his crate at night to sleep. More good news he is growing well, when his weight was checked this week he has gained 5 healthy pounds, he is not fat but growing stronger everyday. Rescuing Guinness not only changed his life for the better, but he will forever be a loved member of the Woerner family! Thank You !!! The Woerner Family

Lily Rose

Looks like Lily Rose has gotten the hang of the underground fencing and is enjoying life in the woods with her beagle (and human!) friends.

Lacy Lee

Lacey didn’t even have to adjust she just made herself right at home and she already knows our routine. She had a bath which she sat perfectly still for. She has a new license and id tag. She loves going for walks everyday and then relaxing on her pink blanket. Lacey plays and plays and about 9pm she just shuts off and goes to sleep. Tag and Lacey sleep together even though once in a great while they have a disagreement. We really love Lacey she is everything you said she was. Thank you for the wonderful dog. God bless you for taking care of these animals. ~Kim

Winston

February 2011

Dear Haven to Home,

I am sorry that I didn't write sooner but I was waiting to get some pics developed. My only camera is an old one, not digital.

Winston and I are both well and very happy together. His favorite pastime is chasing the squirrels that come into the backyard to rob the bird feeders. He almost caught one this morning. Winston somehow got between the squirrel and the fence so the two of them were running a zigzag pattern in the snow.

Winston loves the snow. He can't understand where snowballs go when they hit the ground, but he still loves to chase after them. Sometimes he goes outside and literally lays in the snow watching for the squirrels to come out of the trees. I have often had to coax him back into the house with a special treat or by squeaking one of his toys.

In the pictures you will see him opening his Christmas presents. So you can see, he has quite a few new toys. Everyone who came to visit over the holidays had to bring a toy for Winston. However, he still likes his white Teddy the best. He brought Teddy with him when I adopted him and he still takes Teddy everywhere we go: in the car when we go away or to bed or anywhere.

Thank you so much for bringing us together. Winston has been an answer to my prayers.

Sincerely yours,

Jan and Winston
