Rachael Layla came to us as a foster in the spring of 2010 at 9 months of age. She was so painfully shy and fearful it made our hearts ache. She joined a pack of boxers in our home who are dearly loved. A few months after coming to live with us as a foster, our wonderful fawn boxer was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He died a few months later, and needless to say, Layla was added to our family permanently. Rachael came to H2H in August of 2010 (age 2 years old) and was fostered by a wonderful family. Unfortunately, Rachael had a suspicious heart murmur which looked like early heart disease. No one seemed willing to adopt her due to a possible short life for this gorgeous sweet girl. So, when her foster family had a change in their work schedules, my husband and I took Rachael to foster in December of 2010. She’s now a permanent part of our family and she’s doing great. She and Layla are best buddies who wrestle and enjoy running on our small horse farm. They have added so much to our family. So, we are foster failures (a humorous term we at h2h use for people who adopt their foster dogs) and we happily admit it. These two wonderful dogs now live with Pudgie, a rescued Jug, and Bentley an 8 year old brindle boxer. Linda & Steve |
