Dutch, now Mookie, went happily to his new home. His new family bought him a stuffed hedgehog, which he carries everywhere, even out to potty. His foster mom, who dropped him off at his new home, says "I had a huge smile on my face when I left him there, but more importantly I had a smile in heart."ÃÂ
(One week later): I can't believe it's been a little over a week since we adopted Mookie (FKA Dutch)! Mookie and our kitties are still getting to know each other, but I think in time they'ÂÂll be good friends. We took Mookie on his first trip to the Lewisburg Dog Park over the weekend to run around with our friend's dog and he had a great time. He'ÂÂs also been getting to know all the dogs that live in our neighborhood on our daily walks. He is such a sweet, friendly dog and seems like he's feeling right at home here.

Mookie (FKA Dutch) is such a love. He has really blossomed in the year and a half he's been part of our family. He loves snuggles, going for walks, and just hanging out with Dan, Baxter (our cat), and me.
We are hoping to get an electric dog fence installed this summer so he can hang out in the yard with us off-leash. I think he'd really like that!
