Adorable little Penny was on her way to a much better, kinder life--and then last week she shocked us by delivering a premature pup. We were unaware that she was expecting. Sadly it turned out that she was carrying 6 waterbabies that wouldn't have survived and neither would Penny have survived if she hadn't received immediate medical intervention. Penny is recovering in her foster home and is beginning to show more personality each day. She is afraid of men, but has attached herself to her foster mom. There are times when she is still quite shy--but is beginning to gain some confidence and trust in humans. Penny is living with five other dogs and has her favorites. She will most likely do better in a home with a woman who is home quite a bit. She does chase a resident cat. Patience, kindness, and understanding will help Penny become the companion she was meant to be.
Penny is learning to walk on a leash - but hasn't quite mastered that skill. She isn't completely housetrained--but if you take her out frequently she will go outside. Her foster has seen a lot of progress in the last few weeks. Penny needs another friendly canine companion and a fenced in yard due to her insecurity coming from a breeding facility.
