PLEASE BE MY VALENTINE Some of you local folks may remember Rita Joy – the little dog that was taken to the Watsontown ER after being injured by a “hit and run” driver near the Selinsgrove State School in early December 2023, Thankfully, little Rita’s injuries weren’t serious, and she was taken into Haven to Home Canine Rescue’s system. After being spayed and having a complete dental, Rita is now hoping for a loving forever home in this New Year. Between 10 and 12 years old, Rita is low energy. She spends a lot of time in her dog bed, cuddling on a warm lap, or being a “chair hog”. Her caretaker said, “if I leave my comfy chair for one moment, Rita quickly plants her little fanny in the empty spot, places it in “park” when I attempt to “dethrone” her.” Rita is very good with foster’s grandchildren who are 5 and 7 years old, great with the two resident cats and most likely with other dogs. For her age – she is very agile and can easily navigate steps. Rita loves to go for car rides and looks calmly out the window. She likes to go for short walks but does pull a bit on the leash. Although she NEVER barks, she has given a low growl when the cats have tried to steal her dinner. How dare they? Rita has very few teeth left after a dental—but she has a great appetite and easily eats moistened kibble. Occasionally she has accidents in the house, but we have some good suggestions to manage this. Won’t you consider giving Rita a loving home for the remainder of her life. You’ll be rewarded with cuddles and kisses. Her adoption fee will be sponsored. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet.
