A VERY UNIQUE DOG IN EVERY WAY!
Meet Sarita! A 6 month old Central Asian Shepherd. She is a sweet goofball who loves to have her head rubbed and romp around the yard. She's going to be big when fully grown - easily getting close to 100lbs - but she already thinks she's a lapdog.
Sarita lived with children and did very well. She is good with most dogs, and is okay with dog savvy cats. Sarita "flunked out" of livestock guarding school so she will not be adopted to a home that would use her for that purpose. Don't expect her to leave your chickens alone - she thinks CHICKEN is quite TASTY! Sarita is learning how to walk on a leash and loves to go exploring. Therefore, a home that will take her hiking and walking would be awesome - just don't expect her to go at a fast pace! So far, she loves greeting people and it will be very importantto keep her properly socialized as she matures.
Sarita is crate trained. She is also housetrained but needs to be taken outside at least every 4 hrs. This girl may be large, but she is still a puppy and needs to be treated as such.
Due to her breed, there will be restrictions; we ask that you do your research on the breed before applying. You must own your home; no apartments, no townhomes, and no homes with extremely close neighbors will be considered. A sturdy, physical fence is required as this breed is very tolerant to pain so invisible fences do not work and a tether will not be appropriate. You must have prior dog experience as this breed is highly intelligent, independent and not for the novice owner. The breed does bond very closely to their "pack." Training classes and proper socialization and exposure to new people, places and things are an absolute must. Sarita will not be adopted to a home that will not stimulate her physically and and mentally. She will not be adopted out to an outside only home.
Sarita loves her people and wants to be with them - if you are inside she wants to be with you. She also happens to enjoy snuggling in her dog bed and watching the TV.
