Princeton

Hi Robin,

Sorry I haven't been sending more updates on Harley, we had a new baby in the family, new jobs and now a new home. I wanted to e-mail you and let you know Harley is doing great. He is attached at my side whenever I'm home and he loves playing with his toys with Steve. We just bought our first house a few weeks ago and he is adjusting well. He was a little apprehensive at first but now he loves his new space. He now has a fenced in yard that's way too big for him but he loves it! Running around without his leash is his favorite thing, and terrorizing the other neighborhood dogs through the fences. Attached is a picture of us in front of our new home. I hope to have more to you soon. Hope all is well!

Piper

Well it has been over a year now since we adopted Nadia and next month will be a year since Kahla joined our family. Kahla's name was just Piper, but we decided to name her Kahla Piper Kear. Although they are both mixed. Nadia has more Labrador Retriever in her blood line. She definitely looks like a Lab and her personality traits are almost identical to a Lab. She loves to play, swim and play tag with her sister. Her favorite toy of course is a ball. She loves to play fetch, and she is the first dog we have ever owned that brings the ball back.

Kahla has personality and physical traits of a German Shepherd although she is not territorial or aggressive. She loves to run and chase her sister. Every morning the girls have a routine when Dad goes to work. Kahla insists every morning to go find a shoe and carry it around until Dad leaves them outside. She won't take the shoe outside nor will she chew on them. They have a sisterly relationship and always follows each other around. When Nadia was spayed, Kahla stayed at the vets with her. However we decided when Kahla was spayed, Nadia should stay home with me and she refused to eat and play. She laid by the d oor waiting for her sister. They have brought joy into our lives and are a perfect match for each other. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Chrissy & Bob

Petey

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to thank you for letting me adopt Petey (left). He could not have come into my life at a more perfect time. As you all know, my husband passed away on 5/2, and Petey has been giving me all the love and support that I need to get through this very difficult time for me. It is just amazing how he knows when I am feeling down and missing him, and feel that life has been so unfair to me. He gets those little legs running and getting a running start to jump up on our king size bed to give me lots of licks and snuggles under the covers with me to keep me warm and make me feel safe.
Katie has become quite the big sister. Petey was so nervous and under developed when he came to me. However, Katie quickly showed him how to be cute to get extra treats, where we all sit down for dinner, and best of all.....she taught him how to play fetch. I don’t think Petey even knew what a toy was when I got him, however, he now waits for the UPS man and when he sees the big box of toys coming on to the porch, he wags his tail so fast that sometimes it knocks him over.
I just want to thank everyone from Haven to Home. Although the void in my heart for my husband can never be truly filled, Petey and Katie have definitely made life worth living again. Thank you for allowing me to get so much love from these 2 wonderful members of my home.
I love you all for giving me back my life!
Sincerely,
Lori

Princeton

Hi there!

He is doing very well! We took him to meet Becky and her pups and kitties and he did great! The cats loved him and he was just as entertained with them. He's not shy, he walked right into our house and seemed like he's lived here forever. He slept under the blankets with us last night and has claimed the second bedroom as his own. We bought him a rawhide bone to see how he would do with it and he hid it in "his" bedroom and checks on it to make sure it's still there. He sits on top of our couch and looks out the window and grumbles when someone walks by so he's our little guard dog. He's made a few friends already on our walks around the park, one in particular that he got along with was Toby who is an Alaskan malamute and weighs probably close to 70 lbs. They were rolling around on the ground with each other and having a great time. We are going to try and get him used to a different name because Steve doesn't really care for Princeton, so we've decided to try and get him adjusted to Harley. He seems to be adjusting to us both equally and is eating up all the attention he's getting. We bought him a chew toy last night and this morning all the stuffing was out of it and the squeaker was laying next to the toy haha! So we bought him a tennis ball since that can take a beating. I am going to include some pictures and a video clip of him for you guys so you can see just how well he's doing. Let me know if you can view the video clip. We're planning on introducing him to my aunt and her two shih tzu's sometime this week. We'll let you know how that goes and hopefully can get some pictures of them playing! Thank you so much for the opportunity to adopt such a great dog, he really is a wonderful companion dog.

Princess Bea

Hi there! I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for the cards from Manny and Bea (I cried), and to let you know that we're all thriving here. Attached are some pictures of my daughter and her fiance with the puggles--everyone is just in love with them. The day we brought them home, we let them loose in the (fenced-in) backyard and they ran around and around the perimeter shoulder to shoulder, faster and faster with each lap. They have a great time scouting and chasing squirrels and birds in the yard, and they love their walks around town and rides in the car. As I write, they are taking naps on their beds in the living room--their "beds" are my living room couches. They have good appetites, bubbly personalities, and they get along well with my dog Rosie. There isn't a moment when I regret adopting them. We all love them, and I hope they're happy with us (they appear to be). Thank you all for bring my family and Manny and Bea together. Laurie
