As the first anniversary of my adoption was approaching, I knew that was the time I wanted to say a big thank you to Haven to Home. When I checked the website last year at the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, a beautiful, petite Sheltie popped up for adoption and I was stunned and thrilled.

I filled out the application the next day and tried to wait patiently to hear from a member of Haven to Home. I received word from Lorena that my application was received and being reviewed. Everything fell into place and Nyla came to live with me on December 5. And I am forever grateful to have this tiny, loving, special dog in my life. When my son came home from college the next day, all he could do was grin and hold her. She adapted very well, I believe, and pretty quickly. And I am still amazed at how deep her trust in us runs. She is just so perfect.

She was only about 11.6 pounds when she came to us and she is now a healthy 14.9 pounds and has a beautiful, shiny coat. She loves to snuggle with us, lie in the sunshine, and sleep on any pillow she can find....the more pillows, the better!

I just feel so incredibly blessed that Nyla came when she did and it was meant to be. I had been mourning the loss of my first Sheltie, Kasey, for a year and a half when Nyla arrived. My heart has been much happier this last year. I am so thankful.

So, thank you once again to Haven to Home for this special gift of Nyla.
