Dixon is a shepherd/border collie mix. He is a neutered 7 year old love bug. Dixon is just wonderful with children and just loves BABIES. He alerts his family to strangers, but accepts his family's friends with kisses and tail wags. Dixon's family has to sadly rehome him and his companion Reiley due to a change in lifestyle. Whomever adopts Dixon will be very lucky as he will be a loyal, loving companion. He needs a new home through NO FAULT of his own. His owners are very sad to give him up.
Dixon gets along well with other dogs. He loves to play with toys and chew on kongs, and safe bones. His only vice if you want to call it that: "he doesn't like to take off his jewelry - his halter and collar". We don't know if he'd do well with cats -- but he is reactive to cats, squirrels and bunnies in the back yard. Dixon doesn't seem to be a runner, but he has always been leashed or inside a fence. So a fenced in area is highly recommended. Dixon will not do well left alone for long periods, especially if he doesn't have a friendly canine companion. We will give preference to someone with another dog who gets along with Dixon, a fenced in yard, and/or someone who doesn't leave the home for long periods. (Dixon is already missing his canine companion who was adopted). This boy will be an awesome companion.
