UPDATE May 1, 2025:  Harley had a day at the spa and he was such a good boy.  He even walked on a leash a little today in a strange environment and met another friendly dog.  Harley doesn't understand why no one is applying for him because his foster MOM thinks he is just the sweetest most cuddly little soul.  Did we mention that he LOVES the cats he lives with.  So if you have a dog savvy cat who would like a companion - Harley will be your guy!

Harley is a gentle soul who’s just beginning to learn what it means to be a dog — for the very first time in seven years. He needs someone incredibly kind and patient, who understands that love takes time to bloom.

When you first meet Harley, he may seem a little guarded — he's built some pretty tall walls around his heart. But with lots of reassurance, quiet moments, and gentle care, those walls start to come down, and you’ll begin to see the soft, sweet boy hidden underneath. It’s truly a beautiful thing to witness.

Harley would thrive in a calm, peaceful home that’s happy to go at his pace (which is slow and steady!). We have no idea if Harley will like children - but assuming he would be fine with older children who are respectful and loving. A noisy household would not be his "cup of tea". He prefers to eat and potty alone as he adjusts to a new environment. He's still learning about house training and is making great progress using pee pads.

Leashes are still a mystery to Harley, so he'd love a cozy porch or a small, secure yard where he can relax and soak up some sunshine. He’s a big fan of cat friends and gets along nicely with other calm, respectful dogs who don’t mind giving him a little space at first.

Most of the time, Harley just wants to curl up in his dog bed and quietly take in the world around him. He’s not the outgoing type — but give him time, tenderness, and trust, and he’ll quietly melt into your heart. At the end of the day, he’d love nothing more than to snuggle up next to someone gentle and kind, and feel safe enough to dream sweet dreams.

Harley is up to date with vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.

Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs. 

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.
 
We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
